                         Reading Strategy Tips

Use pictures as clues to the text.

Use sight words vocabulary.

Read and go on .  If a word is not known, try skipping it and coming back to it.  Often, the word can be discovered by the content. 

Sound out the words using beginning, middle, and ending consonants and vowels. 

Reread the book.  The purpose is to build independence.
