Grade 3

Dear Parent,

It seems that as quickly as one school year ends, another one is ready to begin! In an effort to help you plan for your child’s return to school as a third grader, the third grade teachers have assembled a list of supplies that your child will need for next year. Please refer to this list as you and your child prepare for the start of school.

Supplies your child will need:

  • sturdy pocket folders. One folder must be YELLOW.  This will be their “take home” folder.  For the other two folders, please try to make them each a different color or design if possible. (NOTE: The plastic coated folders are more durable and rarely will need replaced before the end of the year.)
  • 1 sewn composition book
  • 1 notebook (preferably easy tear out)
  • 6- 12 pencils, preferably # 2- no lead pencils
  • 1 -2 large erasers
  • wide ruled notebook or tablet
  • 1 dry erase marker ( for whiteboard use)
  • 1 yellow highlighter
  • crayons ( any size box)
  • glue stick
  • a pencil box or bag (must fit in desk with books and other learning materials)

* Do not send in a large binder or trapper keeper. These items do not fit in the student desks. Some of the third grade teachers may require a 1 inch, 3-ring binder for specific uses in the classroom.  If this is the case, your third grade teacher will let you know in a classroom specific newsletter.

We will have a class shared-supply of markers, scissors, and colored pencils. If your child would like to have any of these as his/her own supplies, please purchase these as well.

Teachers always welcome the donations of tissue boxes or white paper towels.  Any donations will be greatly appreciated by your teacher.

We are looking forward to working with you and your child.
